
Man in His 30s Gunned Down After Chat With Driver in Minneapolis, Suspect at Large
Early-Morning Shooting Near Franklin and Lyndale Leaves Man in His 30s Dead
Minneapolis, MN (MinnesotaNow) – A man in his 30s is dead following an early-morning shooting in south Minneapolis Friday, according to the Minneapolis Police Department.

Police Chief Brian O’Hara said officers responded to the area near Franklin Avenue and Lyndale Avenue South for a report of a shooting at approximately 2:33 a.m. When they arrived, they found a man with life-threatening gunshot wounds. Officers began CPR on the scene before the victim was transported to Hennepin Healthcare Hospital, where he later died.

Police Say Victim Was Speaking With Suspect in Vehicle
Investigators believe the victim had been speaking with a man who was sitting inside a vehicle. That individual then got out of the car and fired multiple shots at the victim before fleeing the scene.
“We as a community cannot accept this violence and tragedy as normal,” said Chief O’Hara. “Investigators are working diligently to follow up on leads and learn what led up to this tragic shooting. If anyone has any information about this tragedy, please provide it to our investigators.”
The victim’s name, along with the official cause and manner of death, will be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Minneapolis Police say no arrests have been made at this time. Officers secured the area and canvassed for witnesses and evidence. Minneapolis Forensic Scientists also responded to process the scene.
The investigation remains ongoing.
