
Southeast Minnesota Woman Hurt After Vehicle Hits Utility Pole, Alcohol Suspected
Spring Valley, MN (KROC-AM News)- A southeast Minnesota woman was taken to a hospital after crashing a vehicle she was driving into a utility pole.

The State Patrol responded to the crash shortly after 10:15 Wednesday night.
The single-vehicle crash came on a day when slick roads caused multiple accidents on southeast Minnesota’s roads, however the highway was described as dry at the time of the collision.
Alcohol Suspected in Utility Pole Crash That Sent Grand Meadow Woman to Hospital
First responders were called to the crash scene along Hwy. 16/63 at the intersection with Mower Fillmore Rd., which is about four miles west of Spring Valley.
The state crash report indicates a sedan was traveling east when it left the two-lane highway and struck the utility pole. 36-year-old Nikki Rae Heitland of Grand Meadow was identified as the driver.

She was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester for treatment of what are being described as non-life-threatening injuries.
Heitland was not buckled up and alcohol is suspected to have been involved in the single-vehicle crash, the report says.
The Fillmore County Sheriff’s Office, Mower County Sheriff’s Office, Mayo Clinic Ambulance and Spring Valley Ambulance also responded to the crash.
