Wabasha, MN (KROC-AM News) - Three of the four people charged in connection with a baseball bat attack in Hammond three years ago have now been sentenced.
42-year-old Joshua Daniel Larson of Millville was given a stayed 17-month prison term and was placed on probation for five years. He earlier entered a guilty plea to a felony charge of second-degree riot while armed with a dangerous weapon. The original criminal complaint also listed first-degree attempted murder, along with first and second-degree assault charges.
According to the criminal complaint, Larson was accused of repeatedly beating two men with a baseball bat in the early hours of September 7, 2020. One of the victims ended up with a broken jaw and cheekbone, a fractured eye socket, skull fractures, and a variety of other less serious injuries. The court document stated the second victim suffered injuries consistent with being struck by a bat with nails protruding from it, which resulted in puncture marks on his head, torso, and buttocks.
32-year-old Elliott Glamm of Elgin previously entered a guilty plea to third-degree assault for his involvement in the attacks. He was sentenced last year to three years on probation. Just last month, 21-year-old Daniel Luhmann of Hammond entered into a plea agreement and admitted to a gross misdemeanor riot charge, and was sentenced to probation. Court documents indicated that investigators determined Luhmann was not responsible for the injuries suffered by the victims.
A final defendant in the case is Larson's wife. Court records show 37-year-old Stephanie Larson is scheduled to stand trial next month on attempted murder and assault charges.
