Rochester Drug Bust Leads to Guilty Plea
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man with a history of felony drug convictions has entered into a plea agreement to settle a criminal case connected to a search of his home last summer.
According to court documents, 60-year-old Dalen Hansen has admitted to a third-degree drug possession charge. In exchange, Olmsted County prosecutors have agreed to dismiss another third-degree drug charge, a second-degree drug charge involving sales, and illegal possession of a firearm.
The charges were filed against Hansen last July after Rochester Police executed a search warrant at his home as part of a narcotics investigation. The criminal complaint says the search led to the seizure of more than 10 grams of cocaine, nearly 20 grams of methamphetamine, and three grams of crack cocaine. Police also confiscated digital scales, empty plastic baggies, and a shotgun with ammunition.
The plea deal recommends a stayed 33-month prison sentence, up to six months in jail, and five years on probation. Hansen is scheduled to be sentenced on October 23.
