A Minneapolis man has admitted to a first-degree drug charge connected to the seizure of a significant amount of methamphetamine in Rochester.

Members of the sheriff’s office and Southeast Minnesota Violent Crimes Enforcement Team executed a search warrant around 8:00 Monday morning.

The court document says Rochester police were conducting surveillance as part of an active drug sales investigation.

The Olmsted County Attorney's Office has requested the forfeiture of the more than $100,000 in cash.

A Rochester man, who went to prison for a conviction in a 2002 murder case, was sentenced today for a first-degree drug conviction.

The suspect in the investigation was arrested when law enforcement executed the warrant.

The Cannon River Drug and Violent Offender Task Force was leading the investigation, which had involved surveillance.

Investigators executed the search warrant at the home on Thursday.

The criminal complaint says the defendant was previously sent to prison for a drug conviction in Fillmore County.

The charges stated that the residents of the home found him naked in their kitchen performing a lewd act with a decorative household item.
