Brooklyn Park, MN (KROC-AM News)- Authorities in the Twin Cities say a motorcyclist died after hitting a car over the weekend.

 A news release from the Brooklyn Park Police Department says officers responded to the report of a motorcycle-vehicle crash around 7 p.m. on Saturday. It happened near the intersection of  85th Ave. North and Queen Ave. North.

Witnesses in the area told officers the person operating the motorcycle had been driving at a high rate of speed and diving in and out of lanes before crashing into the vehicle. The motorcycle operator was pronounced dead at the scene, the news release says. 

The person driving the vehicle struck by the motorcycle was treated at the scene for minor injuries, police say. The names of the motorcyclist and motorist have not been released.

The Minnesota State Patrol responded to the fatal crash scene to conduct an accident reconstruction.
