Prior Lake, MN (KROC-AM News)- A head-on crash near the Twin Cities Metro claimed the life of a Lonsdale woman Thursday afternoon. 

The Scott County Sheriff’s Office also says an 11-year-old passenger was ejected from one of the vehicles. The fatal crash occurred shortly after 3 p.m. about four miles south of Prior Lake.

The preliminary crash investigation indicates a southbound pick-up truck towing an enclosed trailer crossed the center line and collided with a northbound car on County Rd. 23. The driver of the car, identified as 50-year-old Megan Taylor of Lonsdale, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The pick-up driver, identified as 39-year-old Arturo Rivera of Lakeville, was not hurt. Authorities say the 11 year old ejected from the pick-up was not buckled at the time of the deadly crash. The child was brought by ambulance to Children's Hospital in Minneapolis with what were described as non-life-threatening injuries. 

investigators say Taylor was buckled. Alcohol and drugs are not believed to be a factor in causing the deadly collision.
