26-year-old Luis Pablo Lopez-Velazquez and 33-year-old Christian Alejandro Montero-Gutierrez arrived at the 1500 block of Central Park Commons in a Hyundai Elantra, expecting to complete the exchange of illicit drugs for cash.
Instead, they were met by the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office Violent Crime Enforcement Team, which had been surveilling the transaction.
As soon as the deal took place, deputies and partnering agencies moved in to arrest the suspects, preventing the meth from reaching Minnesota communities.

"It was stealth. It was fast. It required teamwork," the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
The successful bust was a collaborative effort involving the Eagan Police Department, the Minnesota State Patrol, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and other federal partners.
Authorities say the seized methamphetamine, totaling 9,126 grams (just over 20 pounds) and packaged in individual plastic bags, was destined for distribution across the state.
The suspects now face multiple felony drug charges.
