One of my favorite events each fall is the Bayfield Apple Festival and 2024 marks it's 62nd year of all things apples.

It happens the first full weekend in October and this year the event falls on the 4th, 5th, and 6th.  Over the three days thousands of people will gather in the small town of Bayfield and while apples are the main focus, so much more goes on at this annual event.

It really is for the whole family as the Bayfield Apple Festival features a parade, carnival, craft vendors, fish fry, live music, a beer garden, and so much more.

Part of the fun of the Apple Festival is also visiting one of the several orchards nearby the event.  Sure, you can buy apples and cider directly from them at the Apple Festival, but at orchards, such as Erickson's, you can find a lot more going on including their Country Store will all kinds of goodies to bring home.  Muriel's famous apple cider donuts are a must try!

At the Apple Festival I highly suggest you find a stand offering apple brats with apple mustard.  If I could only have one offering from the event each year, that would be my go-to.  From apple-based deserts to just about everything you can think of, you will be covered including standard fair type foods.  If it's chilly out, make sure you visit the beer garden for a warm apple cider with something extra in it to warm your bones.
