Duluth’s Newest Coffee Shop Announces Grand Opening Plans
While they've been in a "soft opening" mode for a few weeks, Duluth's newest coffee shop is ready to make it official soon.
Underwood Coffee, which has been serving customers at its new shop on First Street in Downtown Duluth since mid-June, announced plans for a grand opening celebration in mid-July.
I happened to pop in at the new coffee shop the day they opened their doors to the public for the first time back on June 15, and visited a little with the staff.
During that visit, the team there explained that they were excited to welcome customers into the shop, but had some finishing touches to put on the space before they were ready to throw any kind of official grand opening bash.

As those finishing touches have been completed, Underwood Coffee says they are now planning a grand opening celebration for Friday, July 10, with things going on during their regular store hours.
For their grand opening, Underwood Coffee says they'll have live music from Ross Thorn and Friends as well as local makers and a vintage market, plus free samples of drip coffee from 7 am until 3 pm.
Aside from this new coffee shop, Underwood Coffee has been a coffee roasting business in Duluth for a number of years now, which gives the company an opportunity to put a spotlight on its own roasted beans in a space perfect for relaxing and enjoying a cup or meeting with a group of friends.
While the grand opening celebration is coming up on July 10, they are open daily. Monday-Saturday, their hours are 7 am to 3 pm, and on Sundays, they are open from 8 am until 2 pm.
