Twin Cities Pizza Joint With ‘America’s Best Pizza’ Expanding To Duluth
A new partnership is bringing a popular Twin Cities-area pizza restaurant north to Duluth this year.
The family-owned pizza shop from Minneapolis earned the title of having the best pizza in the country a couple of years ago, and now it will soon be served up in the Twin Ports area as they move into a space with an existing beverage destination in Duluth.

What pizza place is coming to Duluth?
Wrecktangle Pizza is expanding beyond its Minneapolis home to bring its famous pizza to the Northland.
The business won the 2023 "Good Morning America" contest to find the best pizza places in the country.
GMA's "United States of Pizza" concluded with a grand finale between 5 restaurants from around the country in February of 2023, and Minnesota's Wrecktangle won the contest and the $10,000. The shop beat out pizza places in New York City, Philadelphia, Chicago, and Atlanta.
Wrecktangle serves up Detroit-style from their home shop in the Lyn-Lake neighborhood of Minneapolis as well as from a food truck and a couple of partner locations kind of like the one coming to Duluth.
Where is Wrecktangle going to be in Duluth?
Wild State Cider in Duluth's Lincoln Park Craft District shared the news a couple of days ago via social media that they will be working on a construction project to give Wrecktangle a kitchen space at their cidery on Superior Street.

While they don't expect the new kitchen to be up and running until sometime later this year, Wild State did highlight that Northlanders will be able to get a sample of Wrecktangle's pizza way before the kitchen is functional.
Wild State will be hosting Wrecktangle Pizza's food truck the weekend of April 12-13, giving locals a taste of the delicious pizza that will be a staple at the shop later this year.
What sorts of pizza does Wrecktangle Pizza serve up?
While a menu for their Duluth location is not yet available, their existing menus give you an idea of what sort of things to expect.
The most popular pizza on their menu is the "Shredder", which features pepperoni, pickled jalapeno, Pecorino romano cheese, whipped Cry Baby Craig's honey, and a red sauce.
While they have some great signature specialty pizzas, they also offer classic Detroit-style pizzas like meat lovers, pepperoni, or cheese pizza.
