Winter Weather Advisory Tonight & Tomorrow
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for a portion of southern Minnesota in effect from 4 pm this afternoon through 11 am Monday morning, including Dakota, Goodhue, Le Sueur, Rice, and Scott counties (+more) -- as well as the entire Twin Cities metro area.
A few inches of wet, heavy snow are expected beginning this afternoon, with the heaviest accumulations occurring late tonight into early Monday morning. After the initial burst of heavier snow, a wintry mix of rain/snow is possible but at much lighter rates as surface temperatures warm above freezing.

Total snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches, with winds gusting as high as 30 mph, could cause slippery road conditions. Patchy blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute.
