Hundreds of crashes happen in the Land of 10,000 Lakes every winter. Honestly, driving in the winter gives me the most anxiety I've ever experienced as mother nature can be relentless. You never know what's going to happen when ice begins to form on roads.

I still remember one of my first bad car accidents in the winter. I was driving home on the highway after a last-minute road trip to White Castle. There was construction going on and I hit a patch of ice. Unfortunately, I panicked and stepped on the break. My car then slides into the construction barrier and the airbag goes off. One of my friends in the vehicle yelled "fire". We all got out and then I realized my car was still in drive. It also wasn't on fire, so in the middle of a cold night I went running down the highway to jump back in the smashed-up vehicle to put it into park.

With many accidents happening during Minnesota winters, sometimes they also patrol vehicles. MN Safety put together a compilation of videos of Police vehicles getting hit during the winter. There are a few that didn't happen in winter, and one Wisconsin incident as well.

Check out the video below, and again, please drive with caution this winter.
