Minnesota Vikings owners Mark and Zygi Wilf shared an official statement today about the team's general manager situation.

It seems to be meant as an update for fans who may be curious about what's going on with the team's top front office role as the team shifts into the next phase of getting ready for the 2026 season.

When the Vikings fired Kwesi Adofo-Mensah in January, they said the plan was to let Executive Vice President of Football Operations Rob Brzezinski lead team operations through the NFL Draft and then conduct a search for a new general manager after the Draft.

Well, the NFL Draft wrapped up last weekend, and the Wilfs are reminding us that this is still the plan with their statement shared today.

In the statement, the Wilfs say that the search for the Minnesota Vikings' next general manager is now underway.

The highlight in the statement, shared on social media today (April 29) that this will be "a thorough and deliberate process led by ownership, with support from a small internal advisory committee of senior leaders".

While not disclosed, among those senior leaders is presumed to be the team's head coach, Kevin O'Connell.

The Wilfs say they have enlisted the help of a firm named TurnkeyZRG to help with the search, which they say will include "experienced football executives, emerging candidates, and individuals with diverse professional backgrounds".

The focus in this search, as explained by the Wilfs, will be to "identify a decisive leader with a clear vision for team building, strong communication skills, and the ability to build alignment across an organization".

The statement from the Vikings owners said they are not planning to publicly identify candidates "out of respect for all involved", noting that they will provide further comment when the search is complete.

Some are speculating that Rob Brzezinski is not only a candidate for the role but is a frontrunner for the job. He has been with the team for a number of years in his Football Operations role, though this has not been confirmed by anyone from the team, nor by Brzezinski.

From what the Wilfs are saying, we likely won't find out much more until they have decided on a new person for the job. That said, stay tuned...
