
Two Teens Dead After Minnesota Crash Involving Underage Driver
Stacy, MN (MinnesotaNow) - Two teenagers have died from injuries suffered in a crash involving an underage driver in east-central Minnesota.
The Lakes Area Police Department in Chisago County says the fatal head-on collision was reported just before 2 a.m. on Saturday along a rural highway about halfway between the towns of Stacy and Lindstrom.
According to a news release, the crash involved a car driven by a 14-year-old boy and an SUV driven by a 17-year-old boy. There were two 15-year-old passengers in the car, while the lone passenger in the SUV was described as an 18-year-old man.
One Teen Pronounced Dead at Scene, Another Died at Hospital
According to law enforcement, one of the 15-year-old passengers in the car was pronounced dead at the scene. The 14-year-old driver and the other passenger also suffered serious injuries. One was airlifted to Regions Hospital in St. Paul, and the other was transported by ambulance.
The 17-year-old driver of the SUV suffered life-threatening injuries and was also airlifted to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries. His 18-year-old passenger was transported by ambulance to Hennepin County Medical Center.
Police Say Alcohol May Have Been a Factor
The statement issued by the Lakes Area Police Department says alcohol was located at the scene and may have been a factor in the deadly crash.
The names of the victims have not been released.

The Minnesota State Patrol was called to the scene to conduct an accident reconstruction investigation.
