Two MN Paramedics Injured in Head-On Crash Involving an Ambulance

Minneapolis, MN (KROC-AM News) - Two paramedics were among the five people injured in a head-on collision involving an ambulance in Minneapolis on Saturday.

Hennepin EMS says the crash occurred around 4:20 AM while one of its ambulances was assigned to a non-urgent call for service. A news release indicates the advanced life support unit staffed by two paramedics was traveling east on Lake Street in Minneapolis when it collided with a car traveling west in the eastbound lanes.

The news release says the five people injured in the crash, including the two paramedics, were transported to area hospitals for evaluation. The two injured paramedics have since been released from the hospital. Information about the other injured parties is not available.

Hennepin EMS says the crash is being investigated by the Minneapolis Police Department. The ambulance agency also noted that its ambulances are equipped with exterior facing video cameras and the videos recorded by them have been submitted to Minneapolis Police.
