(KROC-AM News) - The Minnesota State Patrol responded to at least two traffic fatalities on Saturday.

The first was reported around 7:40 AM in Washington County. The State Patrol says the car was traveling south when it exited Highway 61 and went through the intersection at the top of the offramp before crashing into a concrete wall.

The driver, 68-year-old Michael Huset of South St. Paul, was transported by ambulance to Regions Hospital in St. Paul, where he died from his injuries.

The State Patrol report on the fatal crash indicates alcohol was not involved.


 

The second fatality was reported around 8:45 PM on I-494 near the Twin Cities airport. The State Patrol says a woman was attempting to cross the eastbound lanes of the freeway when she was struck by a pickup truck.

The deceased pedestrian was identified as 66-year-old Cynthia Finnell of Bloomington.

The driver of the pickup, a 49-year-old Lakeville man, was not injured.
