The victim told police the shooting occurred while he was helping a woman move out of the home.

Officers were dispatched to the reports of gunfire in the 800 block of 16th Ave. Southeast around 6:20 Tuesday night.

One apartment building and one vehicle were struck by the gunfire.

The gunfire was reported shortly after 6 PM.

Officials said Sunday afternoon the threat against mall employees, shoppers and residents in the area had subsided.

The tragic incident occurred on a Highway in the Fairmont area last October.

The shooting occurred on Tuesday night and the suspect was apprehended about 24 hours later.

Two vehicles and the exterior of an apartment building were hit by the bullets, according to the police report.

Responding officers found multiple shell casings at the scene.

Police rendered aid to the man and he was taken to a hospital where he died from his apparent gunshot wounds, the news release says.
