Owatonna, MN (KROC-AM News) - What had been considered a suspicious death is now being investigated as a murder.

The Owatonna Police Department this afternoon issued a statement indicating the death of a young woman whose body was discovered Monday under an I-35 overpass has been ruled a homicide. The victim has been identified as 25-year-old Sabrina Lee Schnoor of Elysian.

Investigators say she died from a single gunshot wound and what they believed was a targeted attack. Owatonna police have not reported any arrests, but say the investigation is active and ongoing.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, the Steele County Coroner's Office, and the Southern Minnesota Regional Medical Examiners Office are assisting with the investigation.
