
Stabbing in Minneapolis Park Leaves One Man Dead, Police Searching For Suspect
Man in His 40s Killed in Minneapolis Stabbing
Minneapolis, MN (MinnesotaNow)-- Minneapolis police are investigating a fatal stabbing that happened in the city’s Phillips neighborhood.
According to Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara, officers responded around 12:44 a.m. Saturday (8/9) to a report of a stabbing at Elliot Park in the 1000 block of 14th Street East.

When officers arrived, they found a man in his 40s with apparent life-threatening injuries. Police said officers provided lifesaving aid, including CPR, before the man was taken by EMS to Hennepin Healthcare, where he died.
“Our investigators are working diligently to learn exactly what happened in this case,” said Chief O’Hara. “I am asking anyone with information to please come forward and provide us with what you know. Every piece of information can help an investigation.”
Investigators are working to determine the sequence of events leading up to the stabbing. Officers secured and canvassed the area, and Minneapolis Forensic Scientists processed the scene.

Police said no arrests have been made. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the victim’s name along with the official cause and manner of death.
