Crane Lake MN (KROC-AM News) - A Freeborn County man was the victim of a snowmobile crash last night in northern Minnesota.
The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office says the deadly incident was reported around 9:15 PM in Crane Lake Township along the US-Canada border about 45 miles southeast of International Falls. A news release says a caller reported a man was injured and unresponsive after crashing a snowmobile into a tree.
The Sheriff's Office says the 72-year-old Glenville man was trail riding with friends when his snowmobile veered off the trail. His friends administered aid until emergency responders arrived, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The news release indicates speed may have been a factor in the crash.
