Six Hurt, Over 50 Casings Found in Minnesota Shooting
Brooklyn Center, MN (KROC-AM News)- Authorities are investigating a shooting at a transit center in the Twin Cities that resulted in six injuries Sunday evening.
A news release from the Brooklyn Center Police Department said officers responded to a shopping center parking lot on the report of multiple gunshots around 6:45 p.m. Officers reported no one was in the area when they arrived.
Police canvassed the scene and found over 50 spent shell casings from three different firearms. Officers then received a report of an individual checking into a nearby hospital with a gunshot wound, the news release says.
That report was followed by word that five more people checked into the same hospital also suffering from gunshot wounds. Police say all of the wounds appeared to be non-life-threatening.
Investigators believe the shooting was not random and that there’s not a safety risk to the public. No arrests have been made as of Sunday night.
