Second Child Sex Abuse Conviction Sends Rochester Man to Prison

Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A 60-year-old rural Rochester man was sentenced Monday to 9 years in prison for criminal sexual conduct involving a girl under the age of 14.
In addition to the prison time, William Glenn Steiger will be under supervised release for the rest of his life and must register as a predatory offender. He entered a guilty plea to an amended criminal complaint and admitted to a second-degree charge. Steiger was originally charged with first and second-degree criminal sexual conduct involving two victims.
According to the criminal complaint filed in Olmsted County Court, Steiger engaged in sexual contact with two juvenile girls in exchange for him purchasing them a vape pen. The court document says the girls told investigators the sexual abuse occurred at Steiger's residence in rural northeast Rochester in the winter of 2021-2022.
Court records indicate Steiger was previously convicted of a felony criminal sexual conduct charge in 2003 involving a juvenile girl. In that case, he was sentenced to 15 years probation.
