Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- The Olmsted County Attorney’s Office has filed a felony charge against a Rochester woman in connection with a fleeing incident.

Court documents filed Thursday say an Olmsted County Sheriff’s Deputy was on patrol in rural southeast Rochester on February 20 when he saw a vehicle with expired registration traveling in the 1300 block of Marion Rd. Southeast. The vehicle then pulled into a gas station where the deputy surveilled it until it got back on the road.

While at the gas station, the deputy noted the driver matched the physical description of 35-year-old Andrea Wallace. The deputy knew Wallace from previous interactions and knew she had a revoked license, according to the criminal complaint.

The driver got back in the vehicle and the deputy followed it north on Marion Rd. The driver then failed to signal a turn onto Hwy. 14 at the intersection of East Gate Rd. The deputy activated his squad car's emergency lights and siren to initiate a traffic stop but the vehicle did not pull over, the complaint says.

The deputy saw the vehicle make several turns on several different roads and run a stop sign. The deputy terminated the pursuit out of concern for public safety and returned to the gas station where he confirmed Wallace was the driver through surveillance footage and receipts at the business, according to court documents.

Wallace was charged with a count of felony fleeing. Court records indicate Wallace has a criminal record that dates back to 2008 and has been convicted of felony fleeing in Olmsted County in 2021.

She also has two DWI convictions and has been ticketed for driving after revocation 16 times. Wallace is due to make her first on March 7.
