Rochester Man Wanted for Alleged Sex Assault of 14-Year-Old Girl Arrested
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A Rochester man charged for the alleged sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl in an arrest warrant has been apprehended.
The warrant was issued on Monday after Rochester Police took the sexual assault report on June 18. Individuals charged with sex crimes are typically summoned to appear in court, but investigators issued a warrant after being unable to obtain the defendant’s address and contact information.
Olmsted County Adult Detention Center records indicate 27-year-old Alex Allen Schneider was booked into the jail around 11:30 Wednesday morning. He made his first appearance on two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct in Olmsted County Court Thursday morning.
The charges say the girl told police she and Schneider were sitting together on a couch when he slid over to her, put a blanket over the two of them and sexually assaulted her while he was an overnight guest at her house after a birthday party. The complaint says Schneider confessed to the alleged sexual assault to the victim’s family and his own family telling one person, “It just happened . . . I just messed up.”
Investigators had tried to find Schneider but could not locate him after the reported sexual assault, the charges say. Schneider’s conditional bail was set at $25,000. His next court appearance is set for July 20.
