Rochester Man Suspected of Soliciting a Child in North Dakota
Grand Forks, ND (KROC-AM News) - Authorities in North Dakota are reporting the arrest of a Rochester man suspected of soliciting a minor.
The Grand Forks County Sheriff's Office says 27-year-old Daniel Henke was taken into custody at a restaurant in Emerado North Dakota where he allegedly believed he was going to meet with an underage girl. A news release says Henke is accused of initiating a text message conversation with a Sheriff's Deputy posing online as a 15-year-old girl.
Officials say the two engaged in a sexually explicit conversation, which led Henke to drive from Des Moines Iowa to Grand Forks and rent a hotel room for the purpose of engaging in sexual activity with the juvenile girl. Instead, law officers met him at the restaurant in the town near Grand Forks and took him into custody without incident.
He is currently jailed at the Grand Forks County Correctional Center.
