Rochester Man Accused of Attempting to Burglarize Storage Facility
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Rochester man accused of attempting to break into a storage facility office early Wednesday morning.
Lt. Lee Rossman said the manager of the facility reported the attempted break-in Tuesday morning. The manager told a deputy she was reviewing the overnight security camera footage at KO storage in the 1300 block of Hadley View Ct. Northeast when she spotted a subject attempting to pry open the office door around 2 a.m.
Rossman said the manager identified the subject from a previous conversation she had with him. A deputy responded to the facility to review the footage when they were alerted to a Rochester Police Department medical call involving the subject seen attempting to break into the office.
The deputy responded to the medical and saw the subject in the same clothing he was wearing in the security video. Rossman said the deputy also spotted materials at the scene of the medical call that appeared to have been used to try and pry open the office door at the storage facility.
The subject, identified as 40-year-old Brandon Andrews, was arrested and booked into the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center on suspicion of possession of burglary tools and attempted burglary. Rossman said Andrews admitted to attempting to break into the office during an interview with investigators.
Rossman said Andrews did not get inside of the office but said the responding deputy reported the door frame and door of the office was damaged.
