Prep Football Section Semi’s Set in Southeast Minnesota
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- The semi finals are set in the Section 1 prep football playoffs in southeast Minnesota.
A majority of the area's teams dealt with warmer than usual temperatures and rainfall in their quarterfinal matchups on Tuesday.
Some games had to be pushed back to Wednesday.

Below are the results from Section 1 Quarterfinal matchups in classes 9-Player, A, 2A, 3A, 4A and 5A. All semi final games kick off at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 28, except for Section 1-3A, which will hold its semi final action on Monday.
9-Player
The Kingsland Knights stayed unbeaten, shutting out Lanesboro in a Week 8 rematch. LeRoy Ostrander and Spring Grove won comfortably, while the Houston Hurricanes held off a late push by the Southland Rebels.

Section 1A Tournament
Fillmore Central, Goodhue and Bethlehem Academy all rolled to the section semi-finals, each winning by at least 25 points. Kenyon-Wanamingo kept their season going with a low-scoring victory over a young Rushford-Peterson squad.

Section 1AA Tournament
Mother Nature has impacted the Section 1AA tournament. Both quarterfinal matchups were pushed back to Wednesday, which has caused tournament organizers to push the semi finals back to Monday night.
Chatfield kept their section title defense alive with a dominating win over Cotter. Meanwhile Lewiston-Altura pulled off the upset, advancing with a close victory over St. Charles.

Section 1AAA Tournament
The Stewartville Tigers stayed strong in their section title defense, shutting out Red Wing Tuesday night. The other side of the bracket saw sixth-seeded La Crescent-Hokah upset third-seeded Plainview-Elgin Millville.

Section 1AAAA Tournament
Faribault/Shattuck St. Mary's is moving onto the semi finals winning the section's only quarterfinal game 22-18 over Austin on Tuesday.
The Falcons will face top seeded Kasson-Mantorville in Kasson on Saturday. The other semi final is Winona heading west to face Byron. Both games kick off at 2 p.m.
Section 1AAAAA Tournament
Rochester John Marshall claimed victory in a clash with their crosstown rival Rochester Century, winning 14-0. The Rockets will face top-seeded Owatonna on Saturday at 2 p.m.
The other semi-final pits #3 New Prague against #2 Northfield. That game is also set to kickoff at 2 p.m. Saturday in Northfield.
Class 6A
Rochester Mayo will face St. Michael-Albertville in Round 1 of the postseason. The game is set to kick off on Friday, October 27 at 7 p.m.
