One Person Dead & Another Arrested After Arson Fire in Eastern MN
Fish Lake, MN (KROC-AM News) - The investigation into a suspected arson fire early Sunday in east-central Minnesota has become a homicide investigation.
The Chisago County Sheriff's Office says deputies responded to a home in a rural area and northwest Chisago County around 3:30 AM on Sunday after receiving reports concerning an intentionally set fire. When they arrived at the property, a news release says they found a man and woman outside the residence suffering from significant burn injuries.
A man was airlifted to the Hennepin County Medical Center where he died from his injuries later in the day. The woman was transported by ambulance to Regions Hospital in St. Paul. She is currently listed in critical but stable condition.
The Sheriff's Office also reported that a suspect has been taken into custody and charges are expected to be filed this week. The news release states that no other suspects are being sought at this time and there is no known threat to the general public.
The names of the suspect and the fire victims have not been released.
