The Cannon Falls Bombers MSHSL Class 2A State Tournament games will be announced on KDHL 920 AM, 97.9 FM & FREE KDHL app beginning Tuesday.

The Section 1 Champions are the #5 Seed and open with #4 Holy Family Catholic Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at 5:30 p.m.

It is the last game to be played in the Quarterfinals round at Dick Putz Field in St. Cloud.

The Fire were Wright County Conference East Co-Champions with Hutchinson.  They enter the tournament on a 8 game winning streak averaging 7.3 and allowing 3.8 runs per game.

Holy Family Catholic is in Victoria, Mn. which is in Carver County, sporting a 18-5 record.  They had a #4 QRF coming into the State Tournament,

Cannon Falls dfid have a #1 QRF at one time during the season but fell to #6 in the latest rankings.  The Bombers (21-5) had to provide some magic to get out of Section 1.

Cannon Falls finished third in the Hiawatha Valley League Conference behind Zumbrota-Mazeppa and Byron.  The Bears are in the Class 3A State Toournament.

The Bombers average 6.7 runs, give up 3.4 per game and enter the tournament on a 3 game winning streak.

#1 seed Esko (24-1) was the Polar League Champions averaging 11.2 runs while allowing 1.7 per game.

The Eskomos are #1 QRF  with 5 straight wins.  They go up against St. Agnes (23-4) Skyline Conference champions with a #12 QRF.

The Aggies average 8.8 runs and give up 3.4 a game.  They enter the tournament on a six game winning streak.

#2 seed Fairmont (22-2) is out of the Big South Conference where they were co-champs with Marshall.  They are #2 in QRF averaging 8.5 while allowing 2.2 runs per contest.

The Cardinals will fly up against Belle Plaine (18-6)  Runners-up in Minnesota Rivers Conference to Norwood-Young America.

The Tigers have a #21 QRF, average 5.6 runs while giving up 2.1 runs each game.

They are scheduled to play at 10:00 a.m.

#3 Foley (23-5) goes up against Perham (22-3) at 12:30 p.m.

Foley Falcons are #5 QRF and Granite Ridge Conference Champions.  They average 8.1 runs and give up 3.7 this season and are riding a 5 game winning streak.

Perham (22-3) is #7 QRF with a 6 game winning streak.  The Yellowjackets were the Heart O Lakes Conference Champions averaging 8.6 while allowing 3.0 runs per game.

If Cannon Falls wins they play 1:30 p.m. Wednesday,  If they lose Tuesday they go to Sartell for Consolation Bracket action at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday.

If they win that game play Consolation Championship 2:30 p.m. at Dick Putz Field.

If the Bombers win the first and lose the Semifinals contest they play for Third Place at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2023 in Sartell.

Top Class 1A seed was awarded to South Ridge which is based in Culver, Mn. comprised of Cherry, North Woods, Tower-Soudan and Northeast Range in Babbit, Mn,

The Panthers (22-4) are Top QRF in Class 1A averaging 9.3 runs while giving up 3.8 each game.  They are in the Polar League where Esko (top QRF in Class 2A0 was the champions.

South Ridge plays against Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa at Joe Faber Field in St. Cloud, 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 13, 2023.

B-B-E (13-11) is riding a 6 game winning streak despite having a losing record in the Central Minnesota Conference where Eden Valley-watkins and Paynesville Area were Co-Champions.

The Jaguars average 4.4 runs and allow 5.9 a game. Their QRF is #11.

#2 seed New Ulm Cathedral (19-5) is #4 QRF while finishing second in the Tomahawk Conference to Sleepy Eye.

The Greyhounds score 7.4 runs and give up 2.8 each game with a four game winning streak.

New Ulm Cathedral's opening opponent at 10:30 a.m. at Joe Faber Field in St. Cloud is Yellow Medicine East (17-3) out of the Camden Conference where they were Co-Champions with Kerkoven-Murdock-Sunburg.

The Sting are based in Granite Falls with a #16 QRF, scoring 8 runs a game while allowing 2.4 and have a 5 game winning streak.

#3 seed Lyle-Pacelli (22-1) represents tradition-rich Section 1 with a date with Hinckley-Finlayson (13-10).

The Athletics have a #7 QRF with a 12 game winning streak averaging 9.2 runs per game and giving up 2.7. They were Southeast Conference Champions.

The Jaguars have a #31 QRF while playing in the Great River Conference where they finished third . Pine City was the Conference Champions.

Hinckley-Finlayson  averages 7.3 runs and allows 6.8 per game.

#4 seed Legacy Christian Academy (22-3) knocked defending State Champions Randolph out of the Section 4A Tournament and swept New Life Academy to get to state.

The Lions are based in Andover which is in Anoka County.  The community population is 32,601 according to the 2020 census.

Legacy Christian QRF is #5 averaging 9.1 runs and giving up 3.8 runs per contest.

#5 seed Fosston Greyhounds (21-4) were the Northwest Diamond Conference Champions and enter state competition with #9 QRF.

The Lions have 5 consecutive wins, Greyhounds are on a 3 game winning streak.

Class 3A top seed New Prague (21-3) shared the Metro West Conference title with Chanhassen.

The Trojans QRF is #1 with a 7 runs per game average while allowing 2.8 each game.

They are on a 12 game winning streak and open with Little Falls (19-6).

The Flyers (home of Charles Lindbergh) have a #12 QRF, giving up 4.4 runs while scoring 7.3 a game.

#2 seed St, Thomas Academy (18-6) is #2 QRF with 4 straight wins.  The Cadets were Metro East Conference Champions and average 6.4 runs while giving up 3.2.

Grand Rapids (16-10) drew the Cadets for their Quarterfinals round opponent at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 13, 2023.

The ThunderHawks have a #7 QRF, finished third in the Lake Superior Conference where Hermantown was the Champions.

#3 seed Mahtomedi (17-6) with a #3 QRF will open with Byron (18-6) out of the Hiawatha Valley League.

The Zephyrs finished third in the Metro East Conference behind St. Thomas Academy and Hastings.

The Bears are #16 QRF while averaging 7.5 and allowing 4 runs per game.

Mahtomedi averages 7.9 and gives up 3.6 each contest,

#4 seed Monticello (19-3) is also #4 QRF with 9 straight wins while scoring 7.7 runs and giving up 3.7 per game.

The Magic are Mississippi 8 Conrference Champions and will begin state action against #5 seed Benilde-St. Margaret's School (16-8).

The Red Knights are based in St. Louis Park, a member of the Metro West Conference averaging 7.1 runs and allowing 4.3 each game.

The Class 4A Tournament is at CHS Field in St. Paul where the title games will be held on Friday, June 16, 2023 weather permitting.

Top seed South Suburban Conference Co-Champions Rosemount (17-6) are top seed by the coaches in the tournament.  The Irish are #4 QRF and sport 8 straight victories while averaging 4.9 and giving up 2.5 each outing.

Sartell (19-5) with #18 QRF is the random draw for the Irish.

The Sabres are in the Central Lakes Conference which was won by St. Cloud Apollo.  They average 7.2 runs and have 3.2 runs scored upon them each game.

#2 seed East Ridge of Woodbury (17-8) is #10 QRF and finished behind Cretin-Derham Hall in the Suburban East Conference race.

The Raptors score 7.6 runs and allow 4.6 per game.

They got a tough draw in South Suburban Co-Champions Lakeville South (16-8) with a 4 game winning streak iincluding a sweep of Big nine Conference Champions Rochester Mayo in the Section Final to get to state.

The Cougars are probably scratching their heads a little when they shared a title with the top seed and received a random draw.  The have #11 QRF, averaging 3.4 runs and giving up 3.7 each contest.

#3 seed Minnetonka (17-7) is #7 QRF with 5.7 runs scored and 3.4 rtuns allowed per game.

The Skippers finished second in the Lake Conferenvcer to Wayzata.

Their opponent is a State Tournament regular, Mounds View (15-9) with #17 QRF.

The Mustangs out of the Suburban East Conference gallop across home plate an average of 5.9 times a game while their opponents average 3.3 runs each contest.

#4 seed Edina (18-8) is also out of the Lake Conference where they were 6-6 during the regular season.

The Hornets have #3 QRF averaging 6 runs and giving up 4.2 a game.

#5 seed Anoka (18-6) finished third in the Northwest Suburban Conference where Champlin Park won.

The Tornadoes have four straight wins while scoring 5.7 runs each game and allow 2.9 with #9 QRF.
