Cokato, MN (MinnesotaNow) - Authorities in central Minnesota are investigating a suspected workplace homicide.

The Wright County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to a 911 call around 6 a.m. Tuesday from a business in the city of Cokato. A news release indicates law enforcement was informed that an adult woman had been found at her workstation suffering from significant head trauma at Advanced Process Technologies.

Victim Found With Fatal Head Trauma at Business

The Sheriff’s Office says deputies and a Cokato Ambulance crew responded to the business and attempted life-saving measures, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The news release says an initial investigation determined her death was caused by an assault from a coworker using a blunt-force object.

Coworker Arrested at Scene Following Workplace Attack

The coworker, identified as 40-year-old David Bruce DeLong, was arrested at the scene. The name of the victim has not been released.

The fatal incident remains under investigation by the Wright County Sheriff’s Office.
