NOAA Says We Could Have a Warmer-Than-Normal June in Minnesota
Summer has unofficially arrived in Minnesota, and now that we’ve flipped the calendar to June, the warmest season of the year is knocking at the door.

But the official start of summer, the summer solstice, won’t arrive until later this month (June 20). Until then, up here in the North Star State, we are already enjoying longer days and the return of beautiful weather for outdoor activities.
So what can we expect weather-wise as we kick off June? The latest monthly outlook from NOAA has just been released, and here's what they are saying.
🌡️June Temperatures in Minnesota: Slightly Warmer Than Usual
According to the National Weather Service's Climate Prediction Center June 2025 temperature outlook, Minnesota is leaning toward experiencing above-normal temperatures this month. That means there’s a 40 to 50 percent chance that June will be warmer than average across the state.
So while it’s not a full-blown heatwave prediction, we can likely expect a decent shot at more warm days than usual; more consistent 80s and fewer cool fronts.
This first week of June has started on the warmer side, but the next 10 days of the month look to be pretty comfortable for most of the state with highs in the mid 70s, and high 60s in some places.
💦June Rain in Minnesota: No Strong Signal Either Way
When it comes to rainfall, NOAA says Minnesota is on the fence with equal chances for above normal precipitation and below normal. That means there's no strong trend suggesting a wetter or drier June than normal.
During the first 10 days of June, forecasts show a couple of days with rain chances in different parts of the state. As we head into mid-June, early forecasts show a few more chances for storms.

Hopefully, Minnesota ends up in the wetter-than-normal category this month and the rest of the summer... because if there's one thing we can all agree on, we sure could use the rain.😏
