Minnesota Teen & Senior Citizen Killed in Northern Iowa Crash

Charles City, Iowa (KROC-AM News) - A Minnesota teenager was among the two people killed in a head-on crash Sunday afternoon in northern Iowa.
The Iowa State Patrol says 16-year-old Keira Duffy of Golden Valley was a passenger in one of the two vehicles that collided head-on on Highway 18 in Floyd County. The deadly crash was reported shortly before 4 PM about 7 miles northwest of Charles City, Iowa, and about 55 miles south of Rochester.
The crash report indicates that 37-year-old Jenna Stangland of Minneapolis was driving a Jeep Cherokee east on the highway when the vehicle crossed over the center line before she then took corrective action. Iowa authorities say the driver of a westbound car then responded by taking evasive action and the two vehicles collided head-on.
Duffy and 74-year-old Steven York of Waconia were pronounced dead at the scene.
74-year-old Mary York was airlifted to MercyOne Hospital in Mason City, while Stangland was transported by ambulance to the hospital. Information about their medical conditions is not available.
