Rochester is Minnesota's third largest city and home to a wide variety of restaurants. There are high-end establishments and places like Cheap Charlies which would be perfect for a show like Diners Drive Ins and Dives. (Don't let the duct tape on the booth scare you, Cheap Charlies serves an amazing breakfast!)

We asked residents which area eatery they'd like to see showcased on the Food Network. Cheap Charlies got a lot of love. Others thought the massive burgers at Newt's would make sense. The Food Network isn't coming to Rochester, but a local restaurant is going to be featured on America's Best Restaurants.

Whistle Binkies on the Lake features different nightly specials with all types of food. The restaurant is also known for delicious appetizers like Scottish eggs and makes an excellent Bloody Mary.

FYI: A Whistle Binkie is a Scottish term for a traveling musician who plays weddings or small events.

Binkies is owned by Kelly and Eric Amundson. Kelly hopes the recognition will help attract new customers.

She told KTTC news, "They approached us with different ideas, and it is a really good opportunity. Hopefully it will bring in a couple more people, maybe some people that haven’t heard of Whistle Binkies on the Lake.”

No word on when filming will take place, but the Amundsons said they want to make sure that their regulars are involved in this special event.

All 37 Minnesota Restaurants that Have Been Featured on the Food Network

Many Minnesota restaurants have been featured on the Food Network over the years. Some have closed now, but I checked out the Food Networks website, the Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives website, and TVFoodMaps.com to find all of the Minnesota restaurants that have been featured on their channel in the past and found these 37 (in no particular order) that are still open.
