Minnesota Firefighter, Construction Worker Killed in Work Zone
Minneapolis, MN (KROC-AM News)- A Minnesota firefighter and construction worker lost his life in a work zone accident earlier this week.

The tragedy was reported in a construction zone in Plymouth on Wednesday. A news release from the Hennepin County Medical Examiner says he was pronounced dead around 5:40 Wednesday afternoon.
The medical examiner identified the victim of the incident as 54-year-old Michael Gerard Gau. The Bell Plane man was fatally struck by a dump truck in a work zone and died at the scene along Rockford Rd. near Hwy. 169.
A social media post from the Belle Plaine Fire Department Relief Organization says Gau served as a firefighter for 23 years. Firefighters from Bell Plane and other surrounding departments brought Gau from the Twin Cities to a funeral home in Belle Plane on Thursday.
