Minnesota College Student Arrested for Threats After Dorm Search
Northfield, MN (KROC-AM News)- A student at a southeast Minnesota college has been arrested on suspicion of terroristic threats.
A notification sent to families by St. Olaf College Public Safety Director Derek Kruse said the student was arrested in the Twin Cities after a search of their Northfield dorm and an investigation by law enforcement. Kruse says the college is working with law enforcement to monitor the situation.
The student’s name is not being released as the investigation remains active. Officials say there is not an ongoing threat to campus safety. The student is prohibited from returning to the campus.
Kurse says St. Olaf will update the community on further developments when they’re able. The college is asking anyone with information regarding the threats case to share it through the Community Concern Forum or call 911 if they feel there’s an immediate safety threat.
