The memorial service is set for Sunday at 1 p.m. The service will take place at McCown Gymnasium on the Winona State University campus. Doors will open at noon. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family for Maddi’s children.
There will also be a concert in honor of Maddi after the service. Concert organizers say music played a large role in Maddi’s life and are inviting the community to stay and enjoy music from local musicians just as Maddi would have.
Maddi was last seen with her ex-partner Adam Fravel in Winona on March 31. The search for Maddi and the investigation into her disappearance ended on June 7 when a Fillmore County Sheriff’s Deputy found her on a property that had been maintained by Fravel’s family.
Fravel was charged in Winona County Court on June 9 with two counts of second-degree murder. He’s currently being held at the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center in Rochester while Winona County authorities await the completion of a new jail that will allow them to house maximum security detainees. Fravel’s next court appearance is scheduled for July 20.
