The FDA did not disclose how many of the illnesses and deaths were in each state.
Recalled Products Linked to Listeria Cases in Minnesota
The FDA and Lyons Magnus LLC have issued a recall for specific frozen supplemental shakes due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes, a bacterium that can cause severe illness or death in vulnerable individuals.

According to an update from the FDA on Monday, investigators inspected the Prairie Farms Dairy facility in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where the recalled shakes were made. They found Listeria monocytogenes in environmental and product samples.
“Three of the environmental swabs collected from the processing area tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes,” The FDA writes in the update. “Whole Genome Sequencing analysis determined that the Listeria detected in these samples is closely related to the strain of Listeria that is causing illnesses in this outbreak.”
Where Were Recalled Shakes Distributed?
The recalled shakes were distributed primarily to hospitals, long-term care facilities, and nursing homes and come in 4 oz. cartons under the ReadyCare and Imperial brands. Flavors affected include vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. These products were manufactured by Prairie Farms Dairy and distributed by Lyons Magnus.
