Turn Your Ex Into A Pest With The Minnesota Zoo This Valentine’s Day
Are you feeling lonely with Valentine's Day just a couple of weeks away? Still not quite over that bitter breakup you recently went through? Well my friend, the Minnesota Zoo has just the thing you are looking for!
For a $15 donation to the Minnesota Zoo Foundation, jilted lovers can name a bug in someone's 'honor,' which will then be fed to one of the Zoo's hungry animals.
"Your bug will become a part of a balanced diet for animals like golden lion tamarins, chameleons, opossums, turtles and more," the Minnesota Zoo said in a press release. "Recipients will receive an e-card and a personalized message informing them that a bug has been named in their honor."
Among the bugs offered up for naming are beetles, which support soil health and pollination; spiders, which help keep mosquitos and other small insects from infesting our homes and cockroaches, which the zoo says are 'pivotal players in many terrestrial ecosystems.'
For those who do not harbor revenge fantasies regarding their exes people who want to celebrate Valentine's Day, the Minnesota Zoo is also hosting a 'Zoo After Hours' event on Saturday, February 15th.
Featuring sea lion talks, music in the Minnesota Lodge, a silent dance party in Discovery Bay and trivia, tickets for the 'Zoo After Hours' event cost $10 for members/$15 for non-members when bought in advance or $20 at the door.
Zoo After Hours is billed as an 18+ event.
