Nobody matched all six numbers in Tuesday night's Mega Millions drawing, bring the estimated jackpot to $607 Million for Friday night's drawing. Find out which numbers are considered the luckiest in the lottery and boost your chances of winning big.

With the odds of hitting the jackpot in either the Mega Millions or Powerball games somewhere between getting struck by lightning and being crushed by a meteorite, I've heard the lottery referred to as, 'a tax on people who are bad at math.'

That's not the point (at least not to me). I'm pretty good at math. My dad was a math major in college -- so it's in my genes. And yes, my mom married him anyway. I play because it's fun, not because I really think I'm going to win millions. But I could, right?

Experts at Lottery Geeks, a news publication for anything related to the Lottery, analyzed the numbers that have appeared in all previous draws across Powerball, Mega Millions, Cash4Life, Lotto America and Lucky for Life. It turns out that 10 is the luckiest number, meaning it is drawn the most, and 65 is the least lucky number (kind of).

You could use the same sequence of numbers in every draw for the rest of your life and never win a cent, but this list of lucky numbers might just win you millions.

The Ten Luckiest Lottery Numbers

  1. 10
  2. 28
  3. 16
  4. 35
  5. 22
  6. 8
  7. 15
  8. 31
  9. 1
  10. 39

Well there you have it, enjoy your winnings of millions and billions of dollars. Oh wait, there's probably more to it than just picking 10-28-16-35-22 with a Powerball of 8.

Now you're probably wondering what the least lucky lottery numbers are, but according to this research, that's a little bit tougher. When you initially look at the five least drawn numbers, it appears that 68, 66, 69, 67, and 65 are the guilty digits, and they are, but that's because not all of the games that the team at Lottery Geeks looked at have numbers that go up that high.
