I always thought I’d leave Minnesota, or at the very least escape the winters as a snowbird. But here I am, still here, still layering up, and honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way. There’s something about this state that just won’t let go.

The Top States Flooding Minnesota with New Residents

Stacker put together a list of the states sending the most new residents to Minnesota, using data from the Census Bureau, they ranked by the number of people who moved to Minnesota from a different state in 2022.

So, we know where most of our new residents are coming from, but which state are the go-to for out of state movers?

According to Stacker, the top spots people were moving to in 2023 were Vermont, Washington D.C., South Carolina, and Arkansas. Whether it’s the warmer weather, a lower cost of living, or just the itch for a change of scenery, these were the states welcoming the most newcomers.
