The Land of 10,000 Lakes will soon be home to a new location of a classic restaurant that has been featured on the Food Network.

Restaurants play a unique role in our economy and culture both here in Minnesota and across the country. While most of us head to our favorite restaurants for food, sometimes the restaurant's novel atmosphere is an experience all in itself. The National Restaurant Association estimates that there are currently over 11,100 restaurants in the North Star State, generating over $15 billion in sales.

Sadly, many restaurants across the Bold North and the country have been closing in the past few years, so it's always great to read about a new restaurant that is getting ready to open. Such is the case for this restaurant, which already has several locations across the United States, including its original location in Key West, Florida.

It's a restaurant that has been featured on the popular Food Network Show, 'Diners, Drive-In's and Dives' with celebrity chef and host, Guy Fieri. And it'll soon be opening up a new location in Stillwater, Minnesota.

So which restaurant is it? That would be DJ's Clam Shack, which bills itself as a restaurant 'Where Northern & Southern Seafood Meet' and is eyeing a mid-October opening on Myrtle Street East in downtown Stillwater, next to No-Neck Tony's, according to a post on the DJ's Clam Shack Minnesota Facebook page.

This BringMeTheNews story says the new restaurant is owned by Tony Misenor and Jessica Junker, who co-own No-Neck Tony’s in Stillwater. The new the Minnesota DJ's Clam Shack will be located right next door.

The original DJ's Clam Shack has been a staple down on Duval Street in Key West, Florida for over 15 years:

DJ’s Clam Shack was created in late 2009 when two lower Keys restaurateurs decided to combine years of experience working in Massachusetts and upstate New York to create easily accessible fresh seafood on Duval St. in Key West.

The Stillwater location will be the 7th DJ's Clam Shack location. In addition to its flagship location in Key West and its mobile DJ's Clam Shack Truck, you'll also find other DJ's Clam Shacks in the following locations:

  • Indian Shores, Florida
  • St. Augustine, Florida
  • Huntington, New York
  • Stony Brook, New York
  • Wantagh, New York

The now-classic seafood restaurant was featured on a 2019 episode of 'Diners, Drive-In's and Dives' on the Food Network, when host Guy Fieri visited the original location on Duval Street in Key West. (Check out the segment below!) According to the DJ's Clam Shack Minnesota Facebook page, the Stillwater location is set to have a soft opening from October 11th through the 13th, 2024.
