TSA Issues Warning Before The Busy Christmas Traveling Season

To say that Americans are back to pre-COVID traveling numbers is an understatement.  Back on Thanksgiving, about 80 million people packed up their cars and hit the road or went to the airport to travel.  Based on the latest prediction from AAA, it sounds like about 119 million will be gearing up for a trip around Christmas and New Year's.

TSA knows that the lines can be long and to help ensure they move as fast as possible, they have issued a warning to all passengers on what to bring and what NOT to bring this year.

Before Boarding a Plane in Minnesota, Do THIS With All Gifts You Are Bringing

TSA sent out a press release recently with helpful tips for those flying during the holiday season.  It also included this gentle warning:

This is the time of year that passengers travel with gifts. TSA recommends packing gifts in gift bags or boxes instead of wrapping them because if a gift triggers an alarm, it will need to be opened to resolve the alarm. Wrapped presents that trigger an alarm will need the gift wrap removed, but if the gift is in a bag or a box, it is much easier for TSA to look at the item to resolve the alarm. - tsa.gov

Lesson from TSA - do not bring anything to the airport that is gift-wrapped!
