Did you know that 52% of Americans say that they are lonely? Alarming, right?!
We have the most ways to connect with another human being, even all the way on the other side of the world, and yet we are the loneliest we've ever been.
When you go home each day and walk through the door, having people there to welcome you is a huge comfort. Think about it...the big smiles on faces, food on the table, a place to store your treasured belongings, and a nice, warm shower to get clean every day. THAT is what you look forward to when you go home.
But what if you don't have a home?
How Many People Are Experiencing Homelessness in Minnesota?
Back in January, a survey was taken in Minnesota to determine how many people were homeless in the Land of 10,000 Lakes. 2024 has been an award-winning year, but not one that we should be happy about.
9,182 persons were counted overall, a 9.4% increase from the previous year. More persons experiencing sheltered and unsheltered homelessness were counted in the 2024 Point-in-Tim Count in Minnesota than any other year. - Minnesota Interagency Council on Homelessness
