It's already that time of year! As soon as Labor Day passes it's unofficially fall, y'all, and it's time to hit up an apple orchard near Rochester and do some apple picking.

I absolutely love fall. I hate that fall then leads to winter, but if we just take fall as it is, I love it. And one of my favorite fall traditions growing up was going apple picking each year.

Yeah, it's cheaper and easier to go to the store, but where's the fun in that? The memories come from spending that little extra money to go to the apple orchard for an afternoon to pick your own apples with the kids.

Whether you want to just go to pick apples or you want to make it a whole outing, we've got some great apple orchards in the area.

Apple picking in SE Minnesota can be as early as mid-August to as late as the beginning of November, but peak picking season is Labor Day through mid-October. There are only so many weekends between now and mid-October, so time to make some plans!
