The cities of Northfield and Cannon Falls are hosting events this weekend where you can either get rid of items or obtain them.

From 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2024 you can get rid of some unwanted items at the Northfield Maintenance Facility located at 1710 Riverview Drive.

You must be a resident of Northfield and provide proof of residency by showing a driver's license, utility bill, city ID, etc.

All items must be unloaded by residents.

Acceptable items include household garbage, bulk items and construction waste including windows, doors, lumber, shingles, sheetrock, and scrap metal.

A number of items will be taken for a fee.

  • Air Conditioner, $35 each
  • Appliances:  stove, refrigerator, dryer, microwave, etc...  $25 each
  • Computers  $40 each
  • Electronics  $40 each
  • Freezer       $35 each
  • Mattress and box spring   $35 each
  • Monitors      $40 each
  • Tires            $35 each
  • Tires with rim   $10 each
  • Tractor tires  $40 each

Unacceptable items include:

  • Batteries
  • Fertilizer
  • Liquids
  • Paints
  • Pesticides
  • Sludge
  • Tar
  • Thinners
  • Yard waste and brush

Cannon Falls is having garage sales city wide Friday, May 10, 2024 and Saturday, May 11, 2024 from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
