
Elba Crisis Ends Peacefully After Shelter Order Issued
Elba, MN (KROC-AM News) - A tense situation developed yesterday evening in a small Winona County community after the Winona County Sheriff's Office responded to a crisis incident involving a firearm.
Statements issued by the Sheriff's Office indicated that a shelter-in-place order was issued in the town of Elba after deputies responded to a property near the intersection of Highway 74 and Winona County Road 26. Residents were asked to lock their doors and windows and remain indoors.
Shortly after 9:30 p.m., county officials stated that crisis negotiators were speaking with the individual involved. Around 10:20 p.m., the Winona County Sheriff's Office announced that the situation had reached a peaceful resolution.
An update indicated that a male subject had been taken into custody without incident and the shelter-in-place order had been lifted.

The Sheriff's Office did not release any additional details concerning the nature of the crisis incident but indicated a press release would likely be issued in the coming days.
