Mother Nature is not playing an April Fools joke on us.  Unfortunately, it appears that another does of wintery type of weather is headed towards Minnesota.  Based on the latest reports, several schools and organizations have reported closings and delays for Thursday, April 2nd, 2026.

What To Expect With This Latest Storm Moving Through Southeast Minnesota and Wisconsin

Based on the details provided, rain will move through the area between 8 pm and 10 pm.  After 10 pm, we could see a shift from rain to freezing rain along parts of Southeast Minnesota, including along and north of I-90.

Reminder that if freezing rain does appear in the area, watch out for powerlines and branches that could fall.  The weight on the trees can get heavy and fall without much notice.

Christ Lutheran School, Zumbrota - closed Thursday

Faribault Public Schools - onlinel learning day, falcon flex elearning day

Goodhue Public Schools - closed Thursday

Miss Angie's Place - activity canceled on Thursday, no early literacy class in the am

Northfield Schools - will be having an e learning day, using e learning matrix #2 for elementary students

Pine Island Public Schools - opening 2 hours late on Thursday. No am preschool, childcare is open
