Victim of Fatal Shooting in Rochester Identified
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The name of the victim of Thursday evening's fatal shooting near downtown Rochester has been released.
The Southern Minnesota Regional Medical Examiner's Office identified him as 28-year-old Dahir Dahir. Rochester police say he was pronounced dead at the scene after authorities received reports of a shooting and the responding officers found him suffering from a fatal gunshot wound.
The shooting was reported at 6:50 PM Thursday near the intersection of 1st Avenue and 10th Street Southeast, just east of South Broadway and southwest of the Olmsted Medical Center.
As of Friday morning, Rochester police indicated they were searching for a suspect or suspects in the case.
It was previously announced that one person was taken into custody at the crime scene on an active arrest warrant unrelated to the homicide investigation.
