Rochester Felon Accused of Stealing Woman’s Running Vehicle
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A Rochester felon is in custody following a recently reported vehicle theft.

The criminal complaint, filed in Olmsted County Court on Wednesday, says Rochester police responded to the reported vehicle theft at an undisclosed location in northwest Rochester shortly before 2:30 Tuesday afternoon.
The victim reported seeing someone stealing her vehicle while she left it running outside of the location she was at.
Rochester Man With Criminal History Dating Back to 2011 Charged in Vehicle Theft Case
She told dispatch she had briefly confronted the suspect before he left with her vehicle and that her vehicle was also equipped with GPS.
The victim was tracking the vehicle and was relaying its location information to dispatch, the complaint says. Police then found the vehicle parked at an undisclosed location in southeast Rochester, according to the court document.
Officers were given a description of the suspect and found him in the area of 6th St. and 11th Ave. in southeast Rochester. He was identified as 31-year-old Caleb John Permann and was subsequently arrested, the complaint says.
Permann has been charged with one count of felony vehicle theft. Court records indicate Perman has a criminal history that dates back to 2011 and includes eight felony convictions, six of which are theft or fraud related.
Permann’s conditional bail was set at $5,000 and his next court appearance is scheduled for later this month.
